If you are using or intending to acquire software not listed in the site menu, then you can learn more about their accessibility from the following sources.

Purchasing or Renewing Software Licenses

Anyone interested in new software package will need to follow the Penn State Purchasing procedures for software which includes completing the the Software Request Form.

This process will indicate if an accessibility review by the IT Accessibility team is needed. In some cases an Equally Effective Alternative Access (EEAP) plan may be needed. The IT Accessibility team can provide guidance.

Note: This process also applies to free software and software for individual use.

Software Already Available at Penn State

To learn more about the accessibility of software already licensed at Penn State, please review the following lists on the Software at Penn State site. There will be indications of when additional authorization may be needed. This authorization may include an accessibility review.

Courseware

The Penn State Courseware site includes a list of reviewed "courseware" tools licensed at Penn State. Note that any tool listed as "Action Needed for Authorization" will need to be reviewed by the IT Accessibility Team.

You can contact courseware@psu.edu to learn more about or initiate the authorization process. In some cases an Equally Effective Alternative Access (EEAP) plan may be needed.
